Grace in the Wilderness

Grace In The Wilderness is an out-reach ministry for Today’s Busy Woman and Teen Girl. Our mission is to encourage women and teen girls:

-To look upward to God as they discover Him in a new and deeper way,

-To look inward as they discover who they are in Christ, and

-To look outward as they discover God’s plan for their lives.

Founders of Grace in the Wilderness

 Sharon Hawkins / President

Sharon Hawkins wants others to know that she is totally in love with Jesus. Through hardships, trials and blessings, she has learned that there is no end to His mercy, His grace and His faithfulness, there’s simply no better friend than Jesus. In 2008, she answered God’s calling to begin a Ministry called Grace in The Wilderness. She loves to encourage other people, and, through the Ministry’s Women’s and Teen’s Newsletters, and annual Conferences, she and others are encouraging women and teens to discover Christ in a new and deeper way, who they are in Him and His plan for their lives. Sharon’s the wife of her best friend, Scott, and the mother of two very special young men, Taylor, a recent graduate of Anderson University and Bradley (16), who she and Scott adopted from Ukraine as a toddler. She loves fun, mission trips, writing, reading, camping and spending time with her family and friends.

Marie Pritchett / Vice President

Compassionate friend is the best way to describe Marie Pritchett. When someone’s in need, she’s the first one to offer a shoulder, a meal and a hug. Later, you can rest assured she’s carrying that burden for you straight to the throne. She has a close, personal relationship with her Father and there’s no question that she got her servant’s heart straight from Him. She has faced overwhelming adversity in the tragic death of her precious son, Josh, in 2005. Then, when another tragedy struck, she almost lost her daughter, Ali, just two years later, it was almost more than she could bear. In the midst of tragedy, in her darkest night, she discovered God’s amazing Grace In The Wilderness. God called her to share about her Wilderness with others. Marie is an officer of Safe Homes for Safe Kids as well as Grace In The Wilderness Ministries. Marie married her high school sweetheart, Joel and they live in Pickens, SC. They have been blessed with two wonderful children: Josh, who joyously awaits them in heaven and Ali, who lives in Savannah, Georgia with her husband Calton. They are expecting their first child.
